GAO Instruments announced the release of its portable multi-functional ADSL tester which is intended for ADSL/ADSL 2+ installation, maintenance and measurement. It is downwards compatible with ADSL (G.DMT, G.Lite, T1.43) line standards and supports ADSL 2+ (G.992.5), ADSL2 (G.992.3) and RE-ADSL (Annex L). This tester is commonly used for field testing including upstream or downstream rate measurement, error count, DMM, MODEM simulation, and ping and trace testing.
The multi-functional ADSL tester, model A0300011, is configured with a high resolution backlit LCD screen and displays ADSL line connections on a real-time basis. Its embedded software is upgradable via an integrated RS232 interface. This portable ADSL tester supports a maximum transmission distance of 6.5km. It determines the type of an ADSL line being tested, automatically matches the ADSL line standard and then carries out tests accordingly with a simple push on the “Auto Test” key. Test results can be uploaded, saved and printed through Test Manager Pro Software. The ADSL tester can be powered using an automobile adapter. Its compact size, simple operation and multifunctional features make it an invaluable tool for field use.
