Agilent (www.agilent.com) has announced that its 90000 X-Series oscilloscope was approved by Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) to provide product testing and certification to its SATA Gen 3 Interoperability Program. Agilent’s instruments will cover the return loss, cable test and transmitter sections of the program.
Serial ATA is the main storage I/O interface utilized in computing systems today. Its Interoperability Program aims to guarantee compatibility among product implementations. The products of the participating companies in the program can be included in the SATA-IO Integrators List provided they pass the tests. Companies can also have their products certified at independent test labs or at SATA-IO workshops.
Agilent’s Infiniium 90000 X-Series oscilloscope provides up to 32 GHz of real-time bandwidth and offers the lowest jitter measurement floor and the lowest noise in its class. It guarantees accurate and superior measurement, which is ideal for receiver and transmitter characterization. It also provides engineers with increased design margins and added confidence in their SATA Gen 3 product performance.
“With their excellent measurement capabilities and performance, the Infiniium 90000 X-Series oscilloscope and E5071C network analyzer Option TDR can greatly improve measurement accuracy and efficiency in SATA Interoperability testing,” University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory’s senior technical staff member Andrew Baldman said.
Various equipment from Agilent are also for SATA test, such as the 81134A pulse pattern generator, 86100D Infiniium DCA-X oscilloscope, J-BERT N4903B and N5990A test automation software from the company’s partner BitifEye Digital Test Solutions.
