Agilent Technologies (www.agilent.com) has introduced a two-channel handheld digital oscilloscope from its U1600 Series. The U1604A handheld oscilloscope offers 40 MHz bandwidth, a maximum real-time sampling rate of 200 MSa/s, a memory depth of 125 Kpts and a record length of up to 11,100 points.
The oscilloscope also allows users to store up to 10 waveforms and configuration setups, which can be retrieved at any time for future reference and use.
The PC Link application software expands the capability of the oscilloscope by catering to storage, data collection and documentation needs through the full-speed connection of a USB 2.0. The software allows users to remotely control the device from a PC, retrieve and print a waveform via a connected printer.
Aside from the standard Dual Waveform Math (DWM) function, the U1604A also features a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) function. Using four windowing techniques (Hanning, Rectangular, Black-Harris, Hamming), this function enables users to observe the waveform in a frequency domain.
The oscilloscope’s DWM function allows users to perform math function for signal subtraction and addition from multiple channels, while its sophisticated logger mode enables users to consolidate and record a series of data points for purposes of data plotting.
The oscilloscope is also integrated with a multi-lingual Quick Help menu, which reduce downtime in cases when users need help setting up the DMM functions. The supported languages include German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
The U164A comes with flexible triggering capabilities that enable users to isolate and capture conditions of interest. Its advanced triggering function includes pulse width, edge, video and pattern signal triggering.
