Looking inside RF power amps and filters

Those who happened to sit through some of the presentations made at the IMS exhibit floor stage might have seen this slide. The Cobalt is a vector network analyzer from Copper Mountain Technologies. The extended sweep speed and dynamic range alluded to in this slide lets the VNA handle tasks such as measuring all the S parameters of a base transceiver station filter and doing real-time filter tuning. Ditto for quickly measuring the S parameters of SAW filters as might be needed in verifying filter qualities on a production line.
