GW Instek GDS-1042 Oscilloscope

August 9, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

GW Instek (www.gwinstek.com) has introduced a 40 MHz oscilloscope from the GDS-1000 Series, the GDS-1042. This two channel oscilloscope offers a maximum real-time sampling rate of 250 MSa/s and 25 GSa/s equivalent-time sampling rate. It also features a 5.6-inch color TFT LCD screen and a record length of 400 point, allowing the oscilloscope to deliver a remarkable balance of performance between sampling speed and memory length.

Specifically developed to meet today’s most demanding engineering budgets and requirements, the GDS-1042’s other features include an ergonomic design, USB PC connectivity, compact size, user-friendly menu tree operations and convenient SD/USB memory card support.

The front panel of the GDS-1042 features an SD storage slot that enables users to easily access data. The oscilloscope also allows users to capture waveform data or image screen shots and save them into an SD card with just a press of a button. The panel settings of the oscilloscope can also be saved. The back USB port also allows users to connect to a PC to remotely control the DSO and save all the set-ups and the data.

The GDS-1042 allows users to save up to 15 waveforms into the memory, which can be retrieved and displayed at a later time. The oscilloscope also allows users to simultaneously compare two live waveforms and two saved reference waveforms on the screen. Its Measure key press function also enables users to simultaneously display all voltage and signal time associated measurements on the screen.

The GDS-1042 comes with a Global Lifetime Warranty Program, which assures customers of at least five years full support even after the end of production.
