GW Instek (www.gwinstek.com) has unveiled a 250 MHz digital oscilloscope that offers a high-tech platform with thoughtful features. Featuring four input channels, the GDS-3254 delivers a real-time sampling rate of five GSa/s and an equivalent time sampling rate of 100 GSa/s.
The oscilloscope also offers a rise time of 1.4 ns and a vertical resolution of eight bits. It comes with two new current probes (GCP-1030 and GCP-530) and three differential probes (GDP-100, GDP-025 and GDP-050), offering total solutions for various applications in the industry, education and service market sectors.
Meanwhile, the unique split screen feature of the oscilloscope allows users to operate each input channel independently with respective waveform and setting display. The vertical sensitivity, time base as well as the trigger selections can be separately performed by each channel, while each signal’s waveform can be displayed on the screen’s individual portion. This feature is very useful for applications that require simultaneous viewing of the multiple waveforms’ details.
In addition, the eight-inch high resolution 800×600 LCD display provides the split screen a pleasant observation environment.
Its Auto Range function allows users to automatically adjust the vertical scale and/or the time base of the waveform when the amplitude and/or the frequency of the input signal change. This effectively provides users the convenience of having the DSO always display waveform in a proper manner on the screen, monitoring the changes in the input signal’s amplitude and frequency. It is particularly helpful when the user needs to alternately test and probe multiple circuit points that features signals with varying amplitudes and frequencies.
