Agilent Technologies Inc. (www.agilent.com) has updated its InfiniiVision 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes to include five new analysis applications and optional arbitrary waveform generation capability.
The AWG helps engineers easily capture waveforms using their oscilloscopes and simplify stimulus/response testing by automatically converting them to stimulus files.
Agilent was also the first major test-instrument vendor to offer an oscilloscope with an integrated function generator. The integration is famous among manufacturers who wanted to simplify stimulus-response testing, educators on the look out for a simple tool for teaching students regarding instrument operation and R&D engineers that need to simulate missing signals.
Now Agilent has also become the first to feature an AWG to its oscilloscopes. The company is also offering this software upgrade, which is utilized with the integrated WaveGen 20-MHz function generator option, at no extra cost.
The upgraded AWG software allows users to conveniently capture waveforms using their oscilloscopes and converting them instantly into stimulus files, or even edit the captured waveforms. The new software makes it easy for users to stress a design by changing amplitude and frequency, adding noise and adding glitches.
“We’ve learned from our high-performance oscilloscope customers that industry-leading performance is just part of the overall measurement chain,” remarked Jay Alexander, Vice President of Agilent’s oscilloscope business.
“Our customers benefit the most when this performance is combined with analysis tools that turn data into insight, and that’s exactly what we’ve done with the 2.0 software.”
