LeCroy’s DDA 820Zi-A offers 20 GHz bandwidth

October 13, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

LeCroy (www.lecroy.com) has introduced a four channel oscilloscope that seamlessly combines WaveMaster 8 Zi-A’s attributes with additional capabilities suited for disk drive as well as serial data testing.

With 50 ohm and one Mohm inputs, this 20 GHz oscilloscope offers a maximum sampling rate of 40 GS/s, 32 Mpts per channel disk drive analyzer and a large 15.3-inch WXGA color display.

Its SDAII Serial Data Analysis Software has been optimized to deliver fast eye diagram creation even on long records. The software also helps users easily understand the main cause of high jitter by providing deeper insights of jitter pathologies with more analysis views and parameters.

DDA 820Zi-A also features DDAII Disk Drive Analysis Software, which is specifically designed for disk drive analysis. Among the added capability standard offered in DDA 820Zi-A, which would otherwise cost extra in WaveMaster 8 Zi-A models, includes SDM and ET-PMT software, JTA2 software, 8b10b decode, SDAII software and 32 Mpts/ch memory.

Like the WaveMaster 8 Zi-A models, DDA 820Zi-A comes with proprietary X-Stream II architecture that supports zooming, capturing, measuring and analyzing of multiple waveforms at up to 512 Mpts deep. Delivering 10 to 100x faster processing speed, the architecture design is complemented with high-speed serial data buses, Intel Core 2 Quad processor with 12 GHz effective clock rate, eight GB of RAM and Windows 7 64-bit OS.
