LeCroy’s WaveMaster 808Zi-A Oscilloscope

September 7, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

LeCroy (www.lecroy.com) has unveiled an eight GHz oscilloscope from the WaveMaster 8 Zi-A family of oscilloscopes that delivers a sampling rate of up to 40 GS/s.

This four channel oscilloscope comes complete with bandwidth upgradability, making it affordable and easy to stay current with emerging serial data standards and high-speed technologies.

Featuring high-resolution, large 15.2” WXGA color touch screen, the oscilloscope also offers the lowest jitter noise floor while remaining stable over long acquisitions.

With SDA II Serial Data Analysis Software, the WaveMaster 808Zi-A offers the highest confidence for serial data testing. Its eye diagram analysis feature makes the oscilloscope 100x faster than other comparable oscilloscopes available in the market today. The oscilloscope provides unique jitter decomposition methodologies to enable users to easily understand crosstalk problems.

Just like sample rate and memory, bandwidth can also be interleaved. With digital signal processing and high-performance technologies, LeCroy comfortably utilizes high-speed SiGe analog components within their rated bandwidth range, while the 6th generation Digital Bandwidth Interleaving (DBI) allows the oscilloscope to offer extra bandwidth on one or two channels. This approach provides better signal fidelity than “stretching” the oscilloscope’s components well beyond their rated bandwidth.

The WaveMaster 808Zi-A also features a Protocol Enabled Receiver Transmitter Tolerance Tester (PeRT3) that fill in the gap between protocol layer test and physical layer test. This results to a new and more intelligent performance testing capability of transmitters and receivers.

The new LeCroy PeRT3 test system has been developed to meet the testing needs of engineers working with various high-speed serial data communication systems, including serial data transceivers.
