LeCroy Corporation (www.lecroy.com) has released the WaveExpert 100H – the first sampling oscilloscope that acquires, measures and process signals that cannot be physically probed. The oscilloscope completely addresses the compliance and analysis requirements of the long serial data patterns needed by standards like second generation PCI Express, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, serial ATA and XAUI. The Wave Expert’s modular architecture supports up to four electrical or optical channels with bandwidths up to 100GHz, as well as serial pattern generation up to 13.5Gb/s and clock recovery.
LeCroy Wave Expert 100H offers Eye Doctor, a new analysis feature that merges the channel and signal responses to further view equalized signals and accurately measure receiver tolerance.
The Wave Expert 100H Oscilloscope comes with TDR analysis software, which include full differential 2-port s-parameter measurements and reference plane calibration, as standard. These features enable characterization of backplanes, cables, connectors and other devices. The measured s-parameters can be merged with the Eye Doctor to do stressed eye pattern measurements and analysis on equalized receivers. The integration of waveform analysis, jitter, Virtual Probing, equalizer emulation and TDR/s-parameters provides a comprehensive end-to-end solution for verification and design of serial data links, making the new WaveExpert 100H Oscilloscope a complete signal integrity work station.
“The transfer rates of next generation serial data standards will require signal compensation in order to provide the desired performance at the lowest possible cost,” said Michael Schnecker, Product Marketing Manager of Signal Integrity Products. “LeCroy’s WaveExpert 100H performs the type of analysis that has previously only been available on real-time sampling oscilloscopes.”
