LeCroy Corporation (www.lecroy.com) has announced that the USB 2.0 High Speed Inter-chip (HSIC) protocol decode annotation is now available in its WaveRunner, WaveSurfer, WaveMaster, LabMaster and WavePro oscilloscope product lines.
With the capability to communicate among microchips in an embedded sub-system, the HSIC technology leverages the conventional host-device topology of USB and the huge amount of existing codes. This makes the technology extremely lucrative in specific areas requiring fast time-to-market, such as the mobile industry which includes tablets and smart phones.
The company’s HSIC USB solutions involves the intuitive HSIC decode annotation placed on top of the waveform signal’s physical layer in the oscilloscope display with the respective tabular display of data as well as a quick zoom to a particular packet.
Additionally, WaveRunner, WaveMaster, LabMaster and WavePro support LeCroy’s ProtoSync option. The option takes the testing to a higher level by offering an application and transaction level view of the HSIC traffic within the CATC protocol analyzer’s familiar view. The independent decode annotation on the physical layer signals of the oscilloscope and respective CATC protocol analyzer view is fully connected and time synchronized to deliver the fastest possible debug.
LeCroy’s WaveRunner 6 Zi range of oscilloscope will also offer future capability for HSIC protocol triggering through the oscilloscope’s on-board USB PHY, which supports USB1.x and 2.0 protocol triggering.
The seamless combination of hardware-based protocol triggering, HSIC physical layer decode annotation as well as ProtoSync transaction and application layer views offers the USB 2.0 HSIC a unique test capability that is unrivalled in the market.
