LeCroy introduces WaveMaster 8000A Series oscilloscope

February 25, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

LeCroy (www.lecroy.com) has proudly announced the release of its WaveMaster 8000A Series oscilloscope, which provides a unique combination of fast sampling speeds, long memory capture and high bandwidth, suitable for communications and digital systems. Designed with patented X-Stream technology, the series offers 10-100 times faster processing system and data transfer than conventional oscilloscopes. The series also comes with an intuitive GUI to provide easier WaveShape Analysis. Moreover, it also features a low jitter noise floor and a superior timebase performance.

The series offers a wide array of triggers for optimum performance. Its SiGe trigger circuit delivers an edge trigger bandwidth of 5 GHz for easy capturing of fast signals with superior sensitivity. SMART TriggerT’s flexibility enables the scope to capture various signals, including pulse widths and glitches down to 600 HP. The scope also features a logic trigger, which allows it to easily capture a pattern of up to five inputs.

The series’ significant features include a bandwidth of 4 GHz to 6 GHz, 10 Mpts/Ch standard memory and a real-time sampling rate of up to 20 GS/s on all four input channels.

Its proprietary X-Stream technology provides the ability to view deep memory calculations automatically updated on the screen. Its fast processing system allows users fast capture and analysis of long records, customize software packages, use advanced tools such as XDEV Advanced and XMATH Advanced Math, and display analysis views such as histicons and 3-dimensional displays.

To provide true customization, WaveMaster has the capacity to modify math functions or parameter measurements in its interface by simply adding proprietary functionality like Excel or MATLAB.
