LeCroy releases SDA 8 Zi-A Serial Data Analyzers

February 23, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

LeCroy (www.lecroy.com) has released its SDA 8 Zi-A Serial Data Analyzers, which blend a sample rate of 120 GS/s and a bandwidth of 45 GHz with optimum performance at 20 GHz on all four input channels. Featuring 4 GHz to 45 GHz in all models, the range also offers complete bandwidth upgradeability. Offering all the attributes of WaveMaster 8 Zi-A, the SDA 8 Zi-A models provide additional capabilities ideal for serial data testing.

The company has again overcome bandwidth barriers by using proven and widely adopted SiGe processes, 6th generation Digital Bandwidth Interleave (DBI) technology, and custom 2nd generation ASIC designs to attain unrivalled real-time oscilloscope performance with its high sample rate, bandwidth and large memory.

The four channel oscilloscope’s 20 GHz performance is pristine with excellent overshoot, rise time, electrical noise performance and random jitter noise floor. SDAII Serial Data Analysis Software LeCroy’s SDAII software has been optimized to provide long records with fast eye diagram creation, and jitter pathologies with deep insight and more parameters and analysis views to facilitate the identification of the root cause of high jitter.

To make the scope’s long acquisition memory seamless and pain free to use, LeCroy has integrated the series with proprietary X-Stream II architecture, which supports zooming, capturing, measuring and analyzing multiple waveforms at a maximum of 768 Mpts deep. The company has augmented the scope’s proprietary architecture design with high-speed serial data buses, an Intel Core 2 Quad processor (12 GHz effective clock rate), 8 GB of RAM and Windows 7 64-bit OS to allow users to experience 10-100x faster processing speed as compared to its competitors.
