LeCroy (www.lecroy.com) has unveiled an oscilloscope from the family of WaveSurfer MXs-B and MSO MXs-B Oscilloscope that offers bandwidth of 400 MHz and a real-time sampling rate of up to five GS/s — the WaveSurfer 42MXs-B.
This dual channel oscilloscope comes with a large 10.4-inch color touch screen display. Its Wavestream Fast Viewing mode offers a bright, intensity graded display that features a maximum of 256 levels and a fast update rate to closely simulate the feel and look of an analog oscilloscope. With the front panel knob, users can easily turn the WaveStream ON or OFF, and conveniently adjust the intensity.
It is designed with embedded controllers that enable users to save time by easily isolating specific serial data events with SPI, I2C, RS-232, UART, Audio (I2S, LJ, RJ, TDM), USB, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, DigRF, MIPI D-PHY, LIN, CAN and FlexRay decode and trigger options.
The oscilloscope’s LabNotebook feature offers a report generation tool that conveniently saves all displayed waveforms, screen images and settings as well as eliminates the need to open multiple menus just to independently save all the files.
Using Sequence mode allows users to store a maximum of 10,000 triggered events in the oscilloscope’s memory as “segments”, which is suitable when capturing events separated by long time intervals or when capturing quick pulses in fast succession. This mode reduces dead-time between triggers to not more than 800 ns and provides timestamps for every acquisition. Combining this mode with the oscilloscope’s advanced triggers helps users isolate rare events over time and which they can analyze later.
