Multi-function recorder maps ACSI TCP/IP messages to MMS and GOOSE formats

December 13, 2018 By Lee Teschler Leave a Comment

A recorder with IEC61850-8-1, Edition 2, capabilities supports the exchange of time-critical and non-time-critical data through local-area networks (TCP/IP) by mapping ACSI to MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification) and GOOSE (Generic Object-Oriented Substation Event).

The TR-3000 multi-function recorder now supports such capabilities such as ametek recordersubscription to GOOSE messages from multiple IEDs (intelligent electronic devices) and the publishing of GOOSE messages based on device status and operation. It provides real-time values (analog values, digital input status and calculated values through reports), listings of current available data for each data type (fault records, disturbance records, continuous logging, SER listings and PQ data), data file retrieval, streaming of PMU data, and configuration of the IEC61850 capabilities via SCL and ICD/CID files.

The TR-3000 multi-function recorder performs the job of several devices
simultaneously, including transient fault and disturbance recorder, phasor measurement unit, power quality monitor, sequence-of-events recorder and continuous power logger. Its Continuous Transient Oscillography (CTO) mode provides waveform recording at up to 32 samples per cycle and the most comprehensive triggering and recording functions to ensure you never miss a power system anomaly on your smart grid.
