The Aeroel HWS.2 Handy Wire Scanner is the world’s first non-contact handheld optical micrometer for measurement of wires, cables and other similar products. The scanner features an embedded display which provides a 3D visualization for placing the wire within the measurement area and to display the measurement result. The measurement cycle is initiated by the user pressing the trigger and takes only a few seconds. The simplicity and flexibility of the scanner saves time and money on the production floor.
The scanner is equipped with both LED and CCD technology using a special patented optical design to automatically compensate the angular positioning errors. This helps to obtain the maximum precision within the entire field of measurement regardless of the positioning and movement of the hand. All measurements are saved in the memory of the scanner with associated date, time and machine identification. The information can be downloaded to a PC using the scanner’s integrated Wi-Fi or a USB cable. The wireless capability offered by the Wi-Fi enables real-time visualization and collection of measurements.
The Aeroel scanner has a measuring field of 10 mm and can handle diameters from 0.1 to 6 mm. It has a repability of 1 µm and accuracy of 2 µm with a four-hour battery life. It weighs under two pounds, making it easy to manipulate.
