The first portable boundary scan and oscilloscope solution in the world will be unveiled by XJTAG (www.xjtag.com) and Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) at the Embedded World 2012.
The XJTAG Expert combines the advanced digital features of the Pico Technology oscilloscope and leading boundary scan technology by XJTAG.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Pico Technology on the XJTAG Expert which packages two world-leading and complementary PC based systems together in one complete and cost-effective test solution,” according to Simon Payne, CEO of XJTAG.
Payne noted that as broad designs have now become densely populated, access to devices including BGAs also became restricted; hence, oscilloscopes must continuously evolve.
“XJTAG Expert is the next logical step, combining oscilloscope and boundary scan technologies. This cost-effective solution will allow engineers to extend their testing capabilities with the maximum flexibility.”
According to Alan Tong, Managing Director at Pico Technology, “The PicoScope oscilloscope packs all of the capabilities of a traditional full-sized oscilloscope into a small, USB-powered circuit board. This makes it perfect for integration into a custom product like XJTAG Expert.” The PicoScope software also suits well with the system, as it can run smoothly along with the XJTAG software without the need for PC modifications.
The XJTAG Expert features an integrated high speed USB 2.0 to the JTAG controller that provides a high speed interface to the JTAG chain. It also offers the following advanced digital features which include Spectrum Analyser, Digital Oscilloscope, Serials Protocols Analyser and Waveform and Function Generator.
Ideal for lab and field work, the XJTAG Expert can work well using a laptop PC.
