Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) has introduced a dual channel oscilloscope that offers the functionality of a spectrum analyzer, arbitrary waveform generator, function generator and multimeter all in one package, the PicoScope 2205.
Powered directly from a USB port of the user’s PC, the oscilloscope eliminates the need for external power supply, making it ideal for use as portable device when utilized with a laptop.
This 25 MHz oscilloscope offers 16 kS buffer memory and a resolution of up to eight bits (12 bits for enhanced resolution). The oscilloscope also delivers a maximum sampling rate of 200 MS/s for single shots, 100 MS/s when using two channels and 4 GS/s for repetitive signals.
Offering professional-level features and performance, this entry-level instrument offers all the power needed for various applications, whether it’s research, design, education, test, repair or service.
Unlike other oscilloscopes within its class that feature software with limited functionality, the PicoScope 2205 is equipped with similar PicoScope software for Windows fitted in the company’s other high-end oscilloscopes.
This compact oscilloscope benefits from the familiar Windows controls and interface and the power of the PC, making it easy to learn and operate. It allows data to be saved in various formats, including PNG and GIF images, CSV text and MATLAB binary files.
Aside from the five year warranty, the oscilloscope also comes with a software development kit (SDK), which contains example code and drivers to help users develop their own applications or use the oscilloscope with third-party software like LabVIEW.
