Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) has launched a 500 MHz oscilloscope from its PicoScope 6000 Series — the PicoScope 6404 PC Oscilloscope. The four-channel oscilloscope features a real-time sampling rate of five GS/s and a deep one gigasample buffer memory, allowing it to capture and analyze complex waveforms while sampling at full speed.
Aside from the advanced triggering, serial decoding and spectrum analysis features, the standard features of the PicoScope 6404 also includes an integrated function generator, interchangeable bandwidth limiting on each channel, mask limit testing and interchangeable one-megohm and 50-ohm inputs.
A USB 2.0 port allows the oscilloscope to connect to anyVista, Windows XP or Windows 7 computer. To save space on the workbench, users can utilize one with a PC. Connecting the oscilloscope to a laptop enables users to create a portable device that is ideal for on-site demonstrations and field servicing. Its bandwidth and high sampling rate makes the oscilloscope ideal for digital and analogue circuit designers, installers and test engineers.
The oscilloscope also comes with a free software development kit, which allows users to write their own application to control the oscilloscope or use as a digitizer.
Just like all PC Oscilloscope from Pico, the PicoScope 6404 provides excellent value for money. Managing Director Alan Tong explained that the oscilloscope offers “valuable features such as segmented memory, serial decoding and advanced digital triggers at no extra cost.”
“Many of our competitors sell these as optional extras. Their deep memory upgrades, for example, often cost more than one of our scopes.”
