PicoScope 9201 redefines performance

March 30, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) has unveiled the PicoScope 9201, a compact dual channel oscilloscope that delivers the widest range of waveform processing and measurement capabilities than any multi-gigahertz PC Oscilloscope.

Offered at less than half the price of other traditional bench-top instrument in the market, the scope comes with a bandwidth of 12 GHz which allows measurement and acquisition of fast signals with a transient response of 50 hp or faster. The scope can also be conveniently connected to the USB port of a desktop PC or any Windows laptop.

With a sampling interval of 200 fs and accurate timebase stability, this lightweight oscilloscope enables users to easily characterize jitter in the most demanding applications. Measurement on microwave components that has fast date rates is no problem at all since the scope also has the ability to trigger on high frequencies to a maximum of 10 GHz.

PicoScope 9201’s exceptional vertical resolution of 16 bits, excellent measurement repeatability, and fast display update rate features, contribute to make it a powerful measurement tool for TDR characterization of circuit boards, high-speed digital data communications, IC packages and cables, and semiconductor testing.

“The PicoScope 9201 really shows the benefit of Pico’s approach to test and measurement. We have taken our understanding of low-cost PC oscilloscopes and applied it to a high-end, specialized instrument, and the result is a fully specified sampling scope that’s within the budget of most engineering and test departments,” said Alan Tong, Managing Director at Pico Technology.
