Rohde & Schwarz introduces 4 GHz RTO1044 oscilloscope

February 29, 2012 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

Rohde & Schwarz (www2.rohde-schwarz.com) has introduced the R&S RTO1044 oscilloscope, which is a 4GHZ high-performance oscilloscope ideal for analyzing steep edges and fast signals.

With a maximum real-time sampling rate of 20 GSa/s, the four channel oscilloscope can handle various data interfaces with a data rate of up to 1.6 Gbps. It features high sensitivity as well as accuracy for measurements of low-amplitude (<1V) signals, and can be used to test fast clock signals with a frequency of up to 800 MHz.

Its extremely low-noise front-end allows even the oscilloscope’s smallest scaling (1 mV/div) to enjoy its full measurement bandwidth.

The R&S RTO1044 features a 10-GHz single-core A/D converter that offers an outstanding dynamic range. It also offers a high acquisition as well as analysis rate of up to one million waveforms per second. In addition, its digital trigger system allows the oscilloscope to accurately identify narrow glitches (down to 50 ps) including their origin, while an adjustable trigger hysteresis enables users to enhance the oscilloscope’s trigger sensitivity to the signal characteristics.

The oscilloscope seamlessly combines fast FFT analysis, a bandwidth of up to 4 GHz and high dynamic range, making it ideally suited for frequency domain measurements.

Other features include touchscreen operation, which redefines ease of use and cleverly designed screen with its drag-and-drop measurement windows, semitransparent dialog boxes, preview icons with live waveforms and configurable toolbar. These features help users to easily accomplish even the most complex measurement tasks.
