Saelig (www.saelig.com) has announced the release of Xprotolab, a mixed-signal oscilloscope which features an arbitrary waveform generator fitted in a tiny 1″ x 1.6″ DIP module.
For in situ verification and testing, the oscilloscope can be mounted directly on a pcb or breadboard. The Xprotolab, which can be utilized as a development board for AVR’s XMEGA microcontroller, is based on ATXMEGA32A4 microcontroller of Atmel and comes with 4KB SRAM, 32KB Flash, 1KB EEPROM.
With the scope’s 0.96″ 128×64 pixel OLED display, eight digital channels and two analog channels, Xprotolab offers simultaneous sampling of digital and analog signals and the functions of an eight-bit mixed-signal oscilloscope. It also features Arbitrary Waveform Generator capabilities.
With a real-time sampling rate of 2MSa/s at a maximum voltage of +/-10V and 320 kHz of analog bandwidth, the scope delivers more than enough for various servicing experiments and needs.
Aside from providing most of the features found in current scopes available in the market today, the Xprotolab surprisingly also offers an external trigger, including Trigger level adjust, Trigger on any signal, XY mode, Voltmeter mode, Horizontal Cursors, Spectrum Analyzer and Vertical Cursors.
The scope’s 44kHz Arbitrary Waveform Generator features +/- 2V Sine, Triangle and Square waves, which provide control of frequency, amplitude, duty and offset cycle. To provide users with onboard function control, the scope has been mounted with four tactile switches. The scope can be powered via an external +5V pin or through its micro-USB connector.
