Tektronix (www.tek.com) has released a 500 Mhz oscilloscope from its TDS3000C Series that offers the power of a DPO in a compact design that is just 5.9 inches (149 mm) deep and weighs only seven lb (3.2 kg) — the TDS3054C. This four channel oscilloscope also delivers a maximum real-time sampling rate of five GS/s and a record length of 10 k.
Its optional battery pack provides users more mobility as it offers up to three hours of operation.
Equipped with a USB host port, the oscilloscope allows users to easily transfer and store measurement information to the PC, while its OpenChoice PC Communication Software enables users to simply pull screen waveform data and images directly into Microsoft Word and Excel or into a standalone desktop application.
National Instruments LabVIEW SignalExpress Tektronix Edition Software complements OpenChoice and offers users extended capabilities such as data logging, advanced analysis, live waveform analysis and remote instrument control.
Standard features of the TDS3054C oscilloscope include 25 automatic measurements, waveform subtract, add, multiply and divide math functions, as well as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The math and measurement functions of the TDS3054C allow users to isolate a particular occurrence within an acquisition or utilize the full acquisition record length.
Moreover, the oscilloscope’s dedicated front-panel controls and navigations enable users to minimize time spent on learning its operation. Its integrated Ethernet port provides web-based remote control allowing users to control the oscilloscope from anywhere, using the PC and the Internet.
