Test setups will check DSRC and vehicle-to-everything comm capabilities

Keysight Technologies Inc. will work with IT-Telecom to collaborate on a testing solution for Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) or Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication.

IT Telecom is a V2X, Intelligent Transport System (ITS) solutions company in Korea that keysight V2Xspecializes in DSRC technology. DSRC signaling module and protocol expertise from IT-Telecom enhances system integrity and productivity.

Safety is essential and DSRC/V2X is an important data source for autonomous-driving vehicles. This technology enables each car to communicate with other vehicles, road infrastructure, and pedestrians, using digital messaging, to create a 360° situational awareness for each vehicle’s surroundings and traffic conditions.

One of biggest test challenges for a DSRC/V2X deployment is interoperability between systems, deployments and applications. In the U.S., OmniAir — an industry association promoting interoperability and certification for connected vehicles, ITS, and transportation payment systems — has organized a Plugfest for DSRC. The Plugfest includes interoperability testing, field testing and certification testing based on IEEE 802.11p, 1609.2/3/4 and SAE J2945.1 standards. To minimize the risks associated with inadequate testing, and ensure the integrity and performance of a DSRC product, engineers need interoperability and device certification test.

Greater safety on the road starts with precise verification of DSRC mission-critical communication systems. To meet a wide range of requirements and budgets, Keysight offers compact PXIe solutions which are scalable solutions that support both DSRC radio frequency measurements and protocol testing.

The Keysight E6953A DSRC CoC test solution offers compact PXIe hardware that reduces footprint and increases test density. It covers all CoC test cases in a single, integrated PXI frame. It includes certification test cases for standard specific measurements and provides an expandable platform for future V2X test needs. There is a DSRC transceiver module for CoC test cases, and the system provides a fully functioning, configurable, real-time On-Board Unit (OBU) or Road-Side Unit (RSU).
