T&M LEAP Award winners announced at gala dinner

December 13, 2018 By Lee Teschler Leave a Comment

At the LEAP Awards dinner gala in Costa Mesa, Calif., the following companies were awarded trophies in the category of Test & Measurement.

This year’s inaugural LEAP Awards competition honored ground-breaking new products that set a new standard for innovation. Judges rated candidates on categories that included societal impact, industry impact, technical sophistication, creativity, and value to customers.

Three judges chose finalists for the T&M category: Geoffrey Haigh, Principal/Senior Partner, Haigh Consulting LLP; Sam John, President, Innovative Products Inc.; and Bill Schweber, Engineer, Author, Editor, Jaffa Engineering.

The finalists, in no particular order, were Anritsu with its MP1900A signal quality analyzer-R; Mentor, a Siemens Business, with its T3Ster and FloTherm and FloTherm XT calibration; and Tektronix with two entries – the DAQ6510 Data Acquisition and Multimeter System; and the 6 Series MSO mixed signal oscilloscope.

The T&M category saw a tie between two entries, so there are two winners. They are the Anritsu Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A, and the Keithley Instruments DMM and DAQ.

The judges commented: For Anritsu: “This is one of those ‘can’t live without it’ type of products … this will probably become a standard tool for evaluating systems as we move to 5G and ever higher data rates.”

For Keithley: “DMM, Data acquisition, Data logging and analysis in one compact unit, which is an essential tool for testing, quality control and failure analysis of any electrical circuit.”
