Vector signal analysis option for real-time spectrum analyzers

June 4, 2019 By Lee Teschler Leave a Comment

A new integrated Vector Signal Analyzer Application Mode for Complex Signal Analysis lets RF engineers characterize most of today’s complex RF modulation schemes including QAM and QPSK as well as ASK, MSK and FSK signals. The VSA Application gives engineers ability to utilize up to 13 integrated measurement functions including I/Q waveform and RF Envelope, Constellation and Vector Diagrams, Symbol Level Decode, Time and Frequency, and Bit Error Analysis against known sequences providing quick insight into signal behaviors.

Engineers working with common cellular, wireless, and terrestrial radio rigol vsastandards will benefit from the VSA application’s simple preinstalled instrument setup for standards like GSM, W-CDMA, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 802.11b, APCO 25, and many others. This helps speed time-to-debug and eliminates the frustrations associated with test setup.

“The rapid expansion of IoT devices has created an ever more complex RF environment as more data is pushed through an already crowded spectrum,” says Michael Rizzo, General Manager of RIGOL North America. “Engineers integrating these technologies need affordable, powerful and easy-to-use tools to quickly characterize their transceivers and identify communication errors. We are pleased that the RSA5000 Spectrum Analyzer and the new VSA Measurement application can support this emerging need.”

The VSA Option is available pre or post purchase on the RSA5000 Series Spectrum Analyzer as a software enabled option. Option RSA5000-VSA has a list price of $1,999 and is available immediately for purchase.
