A program for 1st to 8th grade students housed atSabinElementary Schoolin NE Portland, theACCESSAcademyserves gifted and talented students fromPortlandand nearby communities. The oscilloscope will be utilized by Alfonso Garcia, ACCESS science teacher, to teach electronics and physics concepts to seventh and eight graders. With guidance from an engineer from Tektronix, some students plan to use the oscilloscope in creating programming projects for the school science fair.
At the turnover of the oscilloscope, a Tektronix staff will demonstrate the significance of accurately measuring electronic signals.
“The opportunity for our students to learn about physics while using test and measurement equipment from one of the world’s technology leaders is invaluable,” commented Eryn Bagby, Principal of theACCESSAcademy.
“This donation by Tektronix will become an essential piece of equipment for our science lab which we hope to build on in the future.”
