Anritsu Company introduces a single-instrument solution that enables 1 Gbps IP data communications throughput testing based on its Signalling Tester MD8475B that supports 4×4 MIMO with 256QAM high-order modulation and four component carrier aggregation. The integrated system, which consists of the new Enhanced Multi-signalling Unit MD8475B-071 option and LTE 4×4 MIMO software, lowers cost-of-test and improves time-to-market by simplifying mobile device evaluation for device makers, chipset manufacturers, and mobile operators.
The new solution specifically addresses the market need for test instruments that can more effectively support the commercialization of emerging broadband mobile services. A single-instrument alternative to current 1 Gbps evaluation systems that consist of several pieces of equipment to achieve this throughput, the MD8475B with the new hardware and software more efficiently evaluates the functions and performance of LTE-Advanced UE and chipsets. It creates a highly stable, highly reproducible evaluation environment to address current mobile device operation challenges, such as operating system freezes, heat generation, and battery consumption, associated with higher load conditions common on today’s networks.
The new Enhanced Multi-signalling Unit MD8475B-071 hardware and LTE 4×4 MIMO MX847550B-041 software strengthen the evolution of the Signalling Tester MD8475B platform to support LTE-Advanced Pro and future cellular features. An all-in-one base-station simulator, the MD8475B supports evaluation of various communications technologies ranging from LTE-Advanced to 2G. It has wide test coverage and easy operability using multiple RF ports supporting up to eight Tx tests. Featuring Anritsu’s SmartStudio interactive GUI, the MD8475B makes it easy to configure a smartphone test environment. Various parameters are set at the GUI to run one-touch tests – including quasi-normal tests – that cannot be conducted easily on live networks.
