GW Instek GDS-3154 Oscilloscope

September 19, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

Good Will Instek (www.gwinstek.com) has introduced a four channel oscilloscope from the GDS-3000 Series that features bandwidth of 20 MHz, a maximum real-time sample rate of five GSa/s and an equivalent time sample rate of 100 GSa/s — the GDS-3154.

The oscilloscope features a Window Zoom function to provide users a display mode that simultaneously displays the main waveform as well as the magnified section of the zoomed-in waveform. In “Zoom” mode, the position and width of the zoom-in window can be selected over the main waveform to obtain the magnified waveform needed for the detailed observation. The “Coarse” mode helps users to accurately and quickly move the zoom-in window to the required position, while the “Fine” mode offers fine adjustment to accurately place the window in its proper position.

The oscilloscope also comes with a high-speed USB host ports located both at its front and rear panels, allowing for easy access of stored data. The rear panel USB device port is ideal for printing through a PictBridge compatible printer and remote controlling. LAN and RS-232 interfaces are also provided for system communication & ATE applications.

Its SVGA video output port enables users to transfer DSO screen images to a monitor or an external projector for big screen observation or remote monitoring.

The oscilloscope’s Serial Bus Analysis software offers complete analysis tools for decoding and triggering of commonly utilized serial bus interfaces, including SPI, I2C and UART. Providing four measurement functions — Harmonics, Ripple, Power Quality and Inrush Current, the Power Analysis software of the oscilloscope allows the measurements of Current, Voltage, Power, Frequency and other quality associated parameters for power source efficiency improvement.
