GW Instek unveils GDS-2000 Series Oscilloscope

July 1, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

GW Instek (www.gwinstek.com) has introduced a new series of digital oscilloscope that seamlessly combines one GSa/s real-time sampling rate with 25 kpts record length to deliver the highest value platform among comparable products available in the market today — the GDS-2000 Series.

Featuring bandwidths of 60 MHz, 100 MHz and 200 MHz and inputs of two and four channels, the GDS-2000 Series accurately measure high frequency signals in a short period of time. Its high sampling rate is particularly useful for capturing and observing single-shot or non-repetitive waveform. Using Equivalent-Time (ET) sampling is better than Real-Time Sampling when capturing and observing repetitive signals. ET sampling can periodically acquire data, with the sample points increasing at each successive sample. With a resolution of up to 40 ps, the ET Sampling Technology reconstructs the waveforms accurately by acquiring data from repetitive waveform cycles.

The GDS-2000 Series offers clear and crisp view with its color TFT LCD display. Unlike STN displays, the oscilloscope’s TFT panels provide wider viewing angles, reduced flicker and enhanced brighter color reproduction.

The GDS-2000 DSO Series utilizes an extensive set of automatic measurement features that includes 27 often used measurement items divided into three sections — Time (Frequency), Voltage and Delay. Up to 10 measurements results can be updated in real-time and viewed on the screen. The automatic measurements provides an effective way of monitoring the signal’s characteristics in real-time.

Other standard features of the GDS-2000 Series include Advanced Triggering, FFT measurement, Time Clock, 12 Division Horizontal Display, Go/NoGo, Frequency Counter, On-Line Help, Multi-Language Screen Menu, Setup Sequence and a Lifetime Warranty.
