Heidenhain Corporation (www.heidenhain.com), a subsidiary of Dr. Johannes Heidenhain GmbH and a manufacturer of precision control and measurement equipment, has coupled the ND 2100G Gage-Chek metrology readouts with the Acanto absolute length gauge to develop an effective combination suitable for fixed gauging applications.
Providing the benefits of an optical encoder, the Acanto absolute length gauge with EnDat 2.2 also provides a solution to various problems of different length gauges. Thus, quality managers need not worry of their gauges drifting, referencing upon startup, or linearity over the entire measuring range.
With two µm of accuracy maintained all throughout the measuring length, “sweet spots” are definitely nonexistent with the Acanto. The EnDat 2.2 allows the Acanto to determine its position upon power up even without the need to reference. Available in pneumatically operated and spring-operated models, the Acanto comes in 30 mm and 12 mm measuring lengths.
Meanwhile, the Heidenhain ND 2100G Gage-Chek will take care of inspection and gauging tasks and can be configured for advanced or basic operations, where inputs can be combined and assigned as desired, together with trigonometric, mathematical or statistical formulas. This enables it to measure complex dimensions such as flatness, thickness, volume and others.
Featuring a color LED-lit readout, the ND 2100G Gage-Chek is capable of managing a maximum of 100 parts, each with up to 16 hidden measurement features and another 16 visible ones.
The plug-and-play routine allows the ND 2100G Gage-Chek and the Acanto to effortlessly interface. Compatible with any EnDat 2.2 encoders from Heidenhain, the ND 2100G Gage-Chek can also interface with Acanto gauges one to eight, making it an effective solution for various gauging applications.
