PicoScope 4224 Oscilloscope

September 7, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) has introduced a high-resolution, two channel oscilloscope that is suitable for scientific, field-service and general use — the PicoScope 4224. Offering 12-bit resolution and one percent accuracy, the oscilloscope provides an excellent choice for vibration, noise and mechanical analysis.

With input ranges from ±50 mV to ±20 V, the PicoScope 4224 enables users to measure even the small signals from sensors and higher voltages from motor drives and power supply circuits.

Powered from the USB 2.0 interface, the oscilloscope eliminates the need to constantly carry batteries or external power supply. Its USB port offers high-speed data to the PC to deliver a responsive, high-resolution display. Featuring a real-time sampling rate of 80 MS/s, this new oscilloscope is one of the fastest 12-bit USB powered oscilloscope in the market today.

Maximizing both the display update rate and buffer size, the oscilloscope captures every detail of the waveform with its advanced 32 megasample buffer that is always on, never compromising performance.

Aside from its advanced features — such as math functions, digital persistence and automated measurements — the oscilloscope is also equipped with PicoScope oscilloscope software, which makes it a complete test and measurement lab in a single easy-to-use application. The software also allows users to use the oscilloscope as a spectrum analyzer. Regularly updated with enhancements and new features, the PicoScope software can be utilized on various PCs, with its latest version available for download at the Pico website.

Writing a software or using a third party application is never a problem since the oscilloscope comes with a complimentary software development kit that offers several software drivers and example code.
