PicoScope 4262 comes with 16-bit resolution

September 27, 2011 By Test and Measurement Editor Leave a Comment

Pico Technology (www.picotech.com) has launched a 16-bit very-high-resolution oscilloscope (VHRO) that comes with an integrated low-distortion signal generator — the PicoScope 4262.

This dual channel oscilloscope features bandwidth of five MHz, allowing it to easily analyze ultrasonic, vibration and audio signals, measure distortion, characterize noise in switched mode power supplies and perform various precision measurement tasks.

The basic controls of the PicoScope 4262 allow users to set the level, frequency and offset, while its advanced controls enable users to sweep over a range of frequencies. When coupled with the spectrum peak hold option, the oscilloscope turns into a powerful tool for testing filter and amplifier responses.

The PicoScope 4262 can also be utilized as a spectrum analyzer. As such, the oscilloscope offers 11 automated measurements such as THD, IMD and SFDR, making it faster and easier for users to accomplish tasks. When used as a spectrum analyzer, the PicoScope 4262 offers a performance that rivals that of dynamic signal analyzers and various dedicated audio analyzers.

The automatic measurements features of the PicoScope allow users to instantly measure everything including peak-to-peak voltage, rise time as well as signal-to-noise ratio, effectively turning the PicoScope 4262 into a multimeter.

Although the PicoScope VHRO comes full packed with functions and features, it is still remarkably fast. Its familiar Windows user interface and intuitive controls makes the PicoScope incredibly easy to use.

The PicoScope 4262 also comes with a software development kit (SDK). The kit offers a collection of software drivers and example code that allows users to write his own software or use with third party software like LabVIEW.
