Tektronix, Inc. (www.tek.com) has unveiled the industry’s first complete automated test and debug solution that meet the SFF-8431, SFP+ PHY and SFP+ Direct Attach Cable specifications, as well as for “10GSFP+CU” measurements. It provides users of the DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series oscilloscope a new TEKEXP SFP-TX option for easily selecting the measurements for SFF-8431 SFP+ testing.
The solution effectively reduces the time spent on testing, while significantly improving productivity. It also makes testing easy, as it allows users to perform all measurements with just a click of a button. Useful for generating reports, the automation of the testing is also very useful in adhering to compliance requirements.
The testing tool helps modify the advanced margin for performance testing whenever the test limits need to be changed. With automation taking care of the masks configuration, a user interface can be utilized to easily alter the limits and measurement parameters as well as the chosen measurements and its corresponding configurations.
Tektronix General Manager Roy Siegel claimed that the new testing solution allows companies to introduce innovative SFP+ products to the market that offer optimum and reliable performance.
The testing kit offers six new measurements, such as Rise Time, VMA, UJ, DDPWS, Tx-Qsq and Fall Time. The set up files, which are included based on several signal types such as PRBS 31, 8180 and PRBS9, allow users to perform measurements and analysis on various signals. After the DUT has been connected and the test bench set, the selected testing can be automatically done by simply clicking the “Run” button. The user should place the DUT in different testing modes with messages displayed at regular intervals in case of the SFP-TX solution.
