All the better to hear you, my dear

microphone arrayThe spiral object visible next to HEAD Acoustics Inc. president Mike Stephan is actually a microphone array. It was one of several mic arrays at the show used to identify the source of unwanted noises. The mic array basically works like a spatial filter which can extract sound from specific directions. The arms with embedded mics just snap together and, along with the camera, connect to a computer via a single cable. Special software calculates the distance from the array to the sound source, necessary for beamforming analysis. The software can do things like ID and remove reflections, dissect noise coming from one spot into components, and playback individual components of recorded sounds.

Great overview of Keysight’s DSRC and C-V2X solutions and thank you for visiting us at ATE Novi. Additionally, Keysight has lower cost test capabilities in this area. Keysight also has test solutions for Automotive Ethernet, CAN, and many power applications including component and system level testing in EV/HV. Keysight’s Automotive Customer Center is located in Novi, MI where seminars, workshops are hosted and customers can rent lab facilities to do their own testing with the latest measurement technologies.
