Putting powertrains through their paces
Siemens demonstrated its powertrain testing capabilities with this demo stand that displayed measured torque compared to what was predicted by simulation software. Involved in the demo were Simcenter Scadas hardware and signature-testing software the made measurements as a function of rotational speed and torque. In the U.S., Siemens provides the PLCs, sensors, and software for this sort of vibration testing. But booth personnel said the company provides whole instrumented test stands in Europe.
